We have canceled our 2020 event due to COVID-19.
Dear Open Roads Family,
First and foremost, we hope you are staying healthy during these difficult times. If you are still on the road, we hope that you’ve found a safe and isolated place to take refuge while we all weather this storm.
Last week, we announced that we were hopeful that the COVID-19 situation would quickly get under control and that we could meet for an all-time celebration in June. However, with how quickly the virus seems to be spreading, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel Open Roads 2020.
One aspect of our mission is to promote responsible travel, and with the safety of our community (and the communities we visit) being #1, canceling seems like the most prudent decision. In addition, like many small businesses that are being affected by this, we need to be mindful of how we allocate our time, energy, and resources right now. If we make good decisions now, then next year we’ll be able to pick up right where we left off, so we can gather at Jug Mountain Ranch for Open Roads Fest 2021.
To everyone who has already purchased tickets, we have issued refunds, and you should have received an email from EventBrite.
We’re also working on additional ways that we can support you and connect with you from afar, and we’ll be in touch about that. If there is anything you’d like to see on the blog, or any videos, live Q&A sessions, or other types of content you’d find helpful during this time, please let us know.
We want to thank our attendees, sponsors, volunteers, food trucks, workshop hosts, and of course, the incredible team at Jug Mountain Ranch for supporting us. We love you all, and we’ll see you in 2021!
Sending you a big virtual hug,
Kristen (Bearfoot Theory) & the Open Roads Team
